We are delighted to announce the launch of a new Quarterly Journal Club coordinated by the Irish Critical Care Clinical Trials Network (ICC-CTN). This initiative aims to foster critical discussion, highlight current research and encourage collaboration across the critical care community in Ireland.

This is an opportunity to engage with cutting-edge evidence, enhance critical appraisal skills and connect with colleagues across the network.

Each 1-hour session will include:

  • A trainee-led presentation of a recent, high-impact publication relevant to critical care.
  • A guest speaker who will offer expert insights and
    guide an interactive discussion

Prime Ireland Annual Meeting and ECR Symposium

The 'PRIME Ireland Annual Meeting and ECR Symposium' has been moved to a hybrid one day symposium and will be held on the 8th of September 2025 in the Museum of Literature Ireland (MoLi) located by Stephen's Green in Dublin.

The meeting agenda will include:

● An ECR Symposium: A valuable forum for early-mid career researchers to collaborate, network and share their research.
● A PPI Session: An open conversation on the importance of public and patient involvement in research.
● A Research Coordinators Meeting: A dedicated session for research coordinators to network and discuss key topics.

ICC-CTN Summer Meeting 2025

We are delighted to invite you to our annual Irish Critical Care Clinical Trials Network (ICC-CTN) scientific meeting in the Titanic centre Belfast on Tuesday the 10th of June 2025. The meeting will be taking place in the Bridge. 

We are honoured to invite you to celebrate the 10th Anniversary of the ICC-CTN with us! Our program boasts fantastic national and international speakers who will be presenting on the ICC-CTNs current ongoing and new Critical Care research. We are delighted to showcase our collaboration with InFACT and we will be highlighting our emerging stars researchers as we focus on one of the network's key strategic objectives 'Clinical Trials and Trialists of the future'. Additionally, this year we are thrilled to welcome national and international PIs for Platform trials and a Phase II AKI trial.

Across three thematic sessions, national and international speakers will share insights and updates on current trials and research initiatives conducted and supported in collaboration with the ICC-CTN.

Each session will conclude with a panel & stakeholder discussion.

The themes are as follows;

  • Theme 1: ICC-CTN x InFact Collaboration – the latest in platform trials federation
  • Theme 2: Emerging Leaders Spotlight
  • Theme 3: The Latest in Critical Care Research

This event will be a wonderful opportunity for our wide network of researchers to come together and discuss the latest developments in critical care research. We look forward to seeing everyone there!

  • The BASIC Clinical Research Course will take place on February 10th & 11th, 2025, in the MoLI (Museum of Literature Ireland) Dublin. 

  • This course is aimed at anaesthetic registrars, junior consultants and allied health professionals interested in critical care research. 

  • Registration will open on January 16th, 2025. Numbers are limited.
